What is the Kir-haraseth?
        KIR-HAR'ASETH
        (brick-fortress), 2 Kgs 3:26, or KIR-HAR'ESETH, Isa 16:7, or KIR-HA'-RESH, Isa 16:11, or KIR-HERES, Jer 58:41, Eze 23:36, or simply KIR OF MOAB, Isa 15:1, a strong fortress in Moab, situated near the south-eastern shore of the Dead Sea. It is now called Kerak, and was in the time of the crusaders a place of great strength, almost impregnable.
