In our sense, "vehicles". Only in 1 Samuel 17:20; 1 Samuel 26:5; 1 Samuel 26:7, margin "place of carriages," i.e. "the trench," alluding to the circle of wagons round the encampment. Elsewhere the things carried, baggage (1 Samuel 17:22; Isaiah 10:28; Judges 18:21), literally, heavy things, i.e. the precious goods which the Danites had just seized on. Isaiah 46:1; "your carriages were heavy laden," rather "(the images) which used to be carried by you (in solemn procession) are become heavy burdens"; instead of carrying you as Jehovah does His people (Isaiah 46:3-4), they have to be carried as heavy burdens by you. Acts 21:15; "we took up our carriages," i.e. "our baggage".
