What is a Portion?
        POR'TION
     Among the Egyptians, Greeks, and Hebrews of ancient times the portion of food intended for every guest was set before him separately. When it was intended to confer special honor upon any one a portion much greater than common was given to him. Gen 43:34. A "worthy portion," 1 Sam 1:5, means, literally, a "double portion."
