What is Hosanna?
        HOSAN'NA
(Save, we beseech!), the exclamation with which Christ was greeted at his last entry into Jerusalem, Matt 21:9. It is taken from Ps 118:25, which was recited as a part of the Great Hallel, Ps 113-118, at the feast of tabernacles, and which was therefore familiar to the Jews.
