What is the Comforter?
        COMFORTER
John 14:16. This word is the English rendering for Paraclete, and occurs only in the Gospel of John. In four out of the five passages in which it is used it is applied to the Holy Ghost, and should be translated "advocate" or "helper." For the Paraclete does not simply comfort, but defends our cause and inspires our courage. See Advocate.
