Azur in Fausset's Bible Dictionary 1. Jeremiah 28:1. 2. Ezekiel 11:1. 3. Nehemiah 10:17.

Azur in Wikipedia One of three uses in the Bible (meaning, he that assists or is assisted, helpful; also spelled Azzur): The father of Hananiah, a false prophet of Gibeon (Jeremiah 28:1). The father of Jaazaniah (Ezek. 11:1). One of those who sealed the covenant with Jehovah on the return from Babylon (Neh. 10:17).

Azzur in Easton's Bible Dictionary helper. (1.) The father of Hananiah, a false prophet (Jer. 28:1). (2.) The father of Jaazaniah (Ezek. 11:1). (3.) One of those who sealed the covenant with Jehovah on the return from Babylon (Neh. 10:17).

Azzur in Smiths Bible Dictionary (one who helps), one of the heads of the People who signed the covenant with Nehemiah. Ne 10:17 (B.C. 410.) The name is probably that of a family, and in Hebrew is the same as is elsewhere represented by AZUR.

Azzur in the Bible Encyclopedia - ISBE az'-ur `azzur, "helpful": (1) The father of Hananiah, a false prophet of Gibeon in the days of Zedekiah (Jer 28:1 ff). (2) One of those who, with Nehemiah, sealed the covenant on the return from Babylon (Neh 10:17). (3) The father of Jaazaniah, "one of" the princes of the people who gave wicked counsel to the city of Jerusalem (Ezek 11:1 f). the King James Version has "Azur" for (1) and (3), but the Hebrew form of (3) is `azur.
