Jesus was a mysthic who understood God, but guys who wrote the Bible didn't even know him...that is why they twisted and changed the truths he was teaching. Calling it "Ancient Palestine" so named by land usurper and colonists like the Greeks and Romans is tantomount to agreeing with Yasser Arafat in his description of what land belongs to a people who never existed 100 years ago. | The Bilble is a book. GOD is not. The bible was compiled after Jesus arrived and died so no doubt only what matched the life of Jesus was put in the old testament. The coming of Christ has allowed people to believe that GOD will continually forgive their sins. It has allowed people to join in religions in a "Spanish Inquisition" type of belief (if you don't believe in Christ, you go to hell and not worthy of our presence). I can't believe that GOD laid down the laws of life in Leviticus (the only book in the bible that was comletely dictated by GOD. Things outlined in this book displays things that NO HUMAN could have known at the time it was written and could not be dramatized. Most of the reasons for the laws have only recently been revealed by science)to have Jesus come and change the rules, either directly or indirectly. An example of this is the recent case of homosexuality by priests. Homosexuality is a deadly sin and GOD did not leave it up to debate: The sin-Lev.18:22. The punishment-Lev.20:13. Now I know that society does not condone GOD's judgement on the punishment, but to have the vatican debating the severity of this crime with a child no less is unexcusable. Everybody is so worried about Revelation that they have forgotten to live the life of love that GOD has provided for us. All we have to do is reach out and grab it. GOD will come when HE is ready and no-one can choose when it will be or rush HIM. All of you christians puff your chest like you have an inside line through Jesus. Almost every christian I have ever met chooses to know only what they want to know in the bible. Few have ever read it front to back. This tells me of the selfish nature that they have allowed themselves. If you are going to base your faith on the bible shouldn't you give GOD his due. Read the whole thing or shut up. I don't believe that the bible is GOD. It was a tool of GODs. Many christians believe in GOD because the bible tells them to. Not because of a profound unstylish revelation.It was still written with the human flair for drama and selfishness, but there is still GODs truth if you just let it be heard. You should not have to study the bible to understand or interpret what GOD has said. Everything you need to know is clear and to the point. If every bible or religious text were to disappear overnight GOD will still exist. You need to believe in GOD not the bible. GOD never said he was going to come to us himself as Jesus we created a trilogy to allow us to worship Jesus. That is breaking the first commandment. GOD did not forget what he said, and he would not make a mistake as bad as that. No one can change these laws, not Christ, NOT ANYBODY. The bible has one message and only one LEARN HOW TO LOVE. If you do this, you have learned all you need to learn from the bible. If you LOVE you can't possibly go wrong. Love is not selective. You can't say "I love you but you smell bad so I don't like you". "I love you but your god is Allah so I can't like you". Love is deeper than all that and it is a hard row to hoe. So you bible thumpers better get busy and read the whole book not just the stories that appeal to you. Read it from the very begining to the very end. If you missed some read it again. Quit skipping around, if you beleive in the book you owe it to GOD to read it ALL. One last word on the bible-It is obvious that GOD created us and we did not evolve because if you read the bible man is as knowledgable from the very first word to the very last. This truly means that GOD gave us all the knowledge we will ever need since the day he breathed life into us. Technology is not knowledge. Trying to learn why GOD is GOD is not knowledge. Be happy that GOD saw fit to even consider creating this self-riteous race. !!GIVE GOD HIS DUE!!LOVE!! and forget these other distractions. |

John 1:1 says "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God". Jesus is that Word. He stands on the right hand of the Father to make intercession for those of us who live in a world of deceipt, sin and death. The entire Bible points to a better way, Jesus Christ as our only hope of salvation. The laws in the Old Testament were to show us our desperate need of receiving righteousness through Christ's atoning work at the cross. Without the blood sacrifice of Christ, we are unable to fulfill the law to perfection to receive salvation. God loved us so much that he sent his unblemished sacrifice, His Son, to bear our sins that we are unable to redeem by ourselves. God's Word is so powerful that He spoke the heavens and earth into existence. His Word is so powerful that He can speak everlasting life into those destined for eternal death. |

| We have to remember that the term we use "Bible" is a limited term in the nature of its meaning. Derived from old greek it simply means collection of data or a compilation of books. Thus if this meaning was taken literally the "Bible" is not so much "a book" but a collection of books. Also we must remember that king james did not create a "version" of the bible; however what he did was compile all the cananical books into one document translating each book into english as he went along. although i state it here as "he did".....it is important to note that their is not any information that indicates that king james did any of this work as most people i speak to seems to beleive. The best that can be said for him on the matter is that the work was commissioned during his life time in the same way we say Queen Ann or Louie the 15th and so on. As king as such we should say "the King James era translation". This may have been what was what the work was called or no name at all; but due to the terrible and unfortunate period of Christian revolt and rebellion in Europe before, during,and after the works completion the resulting apathy and contempt toward the Church in Europe as well as the royal family of great britain it may be that many people of great influence and authority who had ran out of the Church (including priests) began to say "it is his version" or the King James version. the rebellion grew on to become a mass movement which we know today as rhe protestant movement and reformation. Theses early protesters of the Church began with the intent of having the "Bible" in their own version not "the Kings version". I dont believe that they meant that the Kings version was not correct but only that it was his and so "we must remove all that is of his authority and influence". But they lacked the resources and pool of literate theologians to persue such a monumental task early out. also these people termed as "protestants" were busy dealing with immense suffering in europe at the hands of the Church in Europe and the royal family; which as we all know fueled the efforts to seek find and settle the new world and history speaks from their. Today we have evidence that the "protestants" finally found the time to make that brake with the "kings authority" and influnnce in more ways the one of course. We now can enjoy the myriad of "versions" you know the "NIV", "NJIV" etc., etc., etc., We even have some totally new scriptures added by "modern day" prophets" that we can use along side the variations of revisions in our midst. I have recently come across information that someone has had the brilliant idea of coming up with a version that takes all references to "him", "he", and so on and revised these references to be gender nutral.....Mathew, Mark, Luke, and John and Paul and all the Prophets of God would surely look with curiosity at the huge mess we have made of everything. Some of the people who support all of this kaos write and speak wonderfully about this stuff and many of the things they say sounds very jutified and believable. at times i have been moved by the spiritual fervor behind much of the "mass movement" (my own phrase to describe todays protestant condition)this is the saddest part of all. To me a mess is a mess no matter what it costs. i do love God and the Holy word is God. |

He lived and was written about in materials outside of the Bible (See Josephus' "History of the Jewish Wars" for example (an historian who lived at the time of Jesus). Not only that, but for hundreds of thousands of Christians who have sought Him, He still lives and can be "known" first-hand by anyone who uses prayer as a genuine means to seek the truth about Him. This is a literal act of experiencing His presence in the Spirit, and not a myth or imaginary experience. But those of us who have found Him realize that this seems unreal to scoffers. It takes a serious heart-based "search" to find Him, and it's usually the humble who find Him most quickly. Once He is known, it doesn't matter to believers that they are laughed at. . . His presence is so pure, so strong, and so sweet that it becomes easier to be mocked. It also takes a relationship with God through the Holy Spirit to really be able to glean the most from scripture, because it is meant to be a form of spiritual nourishment MORE than a proof-based history lesson. |

| After many years of research, I have found the Hebrew texts to be accurate and being proven almost daily by archaeologists. However, although I think the KJV is the best of all transdlations, I find it filled with errors due to the beliefs of the translators. This is sad because it hides the true identity of the CREATOR (YHVH) and the original identity of the one who was re-created into his "Son"; in fact, it pretty much hides the fact the the Son HAD BEEN CREATED! |

| The Bible is our best, and often only, source about ancient Israel and Judah. There are certainly many chronological problems that have to be dealt with, but overall it is a very useful source. I am continually amazed by the lack of education of the Biblical Inerrancy crowd-- how misinformed they are about history generally,and Judaism in particular. Then too, their level of science education seems to be just pitiful. Still, for those who are willing to read it carefully, study the discoveries of archaeology, and piece the story together, the Bible is a wonderful source. If only the anti-intellectual mindset of the simple pew-sitters could be overcome, they'd discover a new world of fascinating truth in the Bible they think they know. |

For example... The story of David and Goliath... we all know that one.. right? David killed Goliath... however.. in 2 Samuel 21:19 it says that Enahanan killed Goliath. | Sheryl, in answer to your request for help, there is reference in 1 Chronicles chapt. 20: "Elhanan the son of Jair smote Lahmi the brother of Goliath of Gath, whose spear," etc. My response would be...couldn't there have been a brother of Goliath, as in 1 Chron 20? | I just was wondering about something, in the bible it says that God CREATED all of the stars, the moon, the sun, the plants, the animals, day and night, plants, Adam and Eve in six days and rested on the seventh. Am I right? but then when you go to school you get taught that 64 billion years ago the big bang happened and then a while later there were dinosaurs and then a few billion years later man EVOLVED from apes. Am I right about this? How is anyone supposed to know what really happened? In Genesis 4:1 it says, Adam lay with his wife Eve, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Cain... 4:2 Later she gave birth to his brother Able. These are the only two children of Adam and Eve that I have ever read about or heard about, but then in Genesis 4:17 it says, Cain lay with HIS wife,... Now I am just wondering where she came from, does anyone know? I am really confused about this and would really appreciate some input from anyone that cares or is confused themselves. | I am still trying to understand alot of the scriptures. I have to believe that the Bible is the only truth that I as a Christian can believe. That's why when I listen to the pastor's sermon. I try my best to find out if it is true. By searching the archives and studying the scriptures the best I can. I find it hard to believe that God would just create us then let us loose to find our own way. We wouldn't do that to our children would we? | I have been brought up in a fully committed Christian family. But as I got older started to read the Bible from my own point of view. And I am finding it difficult to read at the moment. As I find that it seems to contradict itself all the time. And I find some of it not to be true in that it says things like, "ask and you will be given. Seek and you will find" "If you ask for a piece of bread, would he give you a stone? How much more loving would God be as a Father compared to our human love." But I have asked for spiritual eyes to be able to read the word and love it. many times, and it has not happened. I asked God to give me a passion for something in life that I could throw myself into and feel I am helping to make this world a better place. I have asked God to reveal himself to me in a real and tangeable way so that I can be truley sure of him when I share with unbelievers but none of this has happened and now I feel that I just want to live a normal life and be as happy as I can be with the things that I have available to me and my family. But I feel that I am drifting away from the heart of God and I don't really know what to do about it. The Bible is such a book of Power and communion with the true God. But why does he hide himself from us in this day and Age. Is our Country too blind in their riches or is God actually distancing himself from us? If anyone knows how I can become more passionate about God I would love to hear from them. My love is not dwindling as I do love him but I feel my interest in him is dying as I am tired of searching for him and never finding any jewels. It's like a playstation game that you play and you've searched and tried to find that thing to get to the next stage. But you just can't find it. I feel like giving up and just leaving the game. | The Bible is the word of God. It is the literal word of God. I do have to correct you on a few things though. First, the jews are not God's chosen people. The jews are not a race but a religion that goes by the Babylonian Talmud not the Tora or the Old Testament of the Bible. They are Edomites and Kazarias. The Israelites are actually the Angle-Saxon European whites that migrated into Europe after their captivity by Syria. There is no known fact that the Greek Septuagint actually was written before the birth of Christ. It probably was written by Origen in about 240AD. Jesus did not quote from the Greek Septuagint. There are problems with accepting the Greek Septuagint. 1) If there were Israelites (The word jew first appears in the Old Testament in IIKingss 16:6) in Alexandria Egypt at that time; they were in direct violation of God's laws Dueteronomy 17:16 I believe, tells them not to go back to Egypt. If they were there at the time, God would have destroyed them. Moses took all of the Israelites out of Egypt; he did not leave a remnant there. That would of been a violation of God's laws. Also, only the Levitical priesthood could write or deal with the Old Testament. That means that Ptolomy would have had to send for Israeli scholars from Israel to come to Egypt. This would have been a direct violation of God's commandments. Only the tribe of Levi was permitted by God to write the scriptures I Chron. 16:4. The idea of the Greek Septuagint actually came from a letter that is supposedly dated at the time of Christ, but has been proven a fraud. The Greek Septuagint is a carbon copy of Origen's Hexapla. Nobody really knows which Ptolomy requested the translation. They say Ptolomy Philadelphia, but nobody really knows who that is. The first Ptolomy was the General under Alexander the Great who took over Egypt at the time of Alexanders death. Ptolomy I was before the supposed writing of the Greek Septuagint, and PtolomyII would have been something like ninty years old at the time. Most authorities actually believe that the Greek Septuagint is a fraud. Halley's Bible commentary says that tradition says, but doesn't say that it is fact. It is assumed. It contains Apocrypha books that have been rejected as not cannolcal. According to the colophon on the end of Sinaiticus, it came from Origen's Hexapla. There are no manuscripts that pre-date the third century AD to validate the claim that Jesus or Paul quoted a Greek Old Testament. The Greek Septuagint comes from Sinaiticus, Vaticanus, and Alexandrinus manuscripts which are in fact Origen's Hexapla. Again, Origen was a heretic and his writings are unreliable.The Greek Septuagint comes from the letter of the pseudo-Aristeas, and according to the Encyclopedia of Religion and Ethics, is a forgery and the fragments of Aristobulus highly suspect. The Greek Septuagint also has Gnostic and Platonic readings. Which is the occult. Sort of your ESP is occultic, and I wonder why you do it. Don't you know that Jesus Christ died for you. Accept Jesus Christ as your personel savior and repent for your sins. |

| Who is Jesus? Without a doubt, you have often heard the claim that Jesus is God, the second person in the "Holy trinity." That Jesus, of his own admission, could do nothing on his own is clear proof that Jesus is not all-powerful, and that therefore Jesus is not God. 3. God does not have a God.....but Jesus did have a God. God is the ultimate judge and refuge for all, and He does not call upon nor pray to any others. But Jesus acknowledged that there was one whom he worshipped and to whom he prayed when he said, "l ascend unto my Father and your Father, and to my God and your God." St. John 20:17. He is also reported to have cried out while on the cross, "My God, my God why hast thou forsaken me?" Matt 27:46. If Jesus were God, then couldn't this be read, "Myself, myself why hast thou forsaken me?" Would that not be pure nonsense? When Jesus prayed the Lord's prayer (Luke 11:2-4), was he praying to himself? When in the garden of Gethsemane he prayed, "O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: Nevertheless not as I will but as thou wilt." Matt 26:36-39. Was Jesus praying to himself? That Jesus, of his own admission and by his own actions, acknowledged, worshipped, and prayed to another being as God is clear proof that Jesus himself is not God. 4. God is an invisible spirit.....but Jesus was flesh and blood While thousands saw Jesus and heard his voice, Jesus himself said that this could not be done with God when he said. "No man hath seen God at any time." St. John 1:18. '"Ye have neither heard His voice at any time nor seen His shape." St. John 5:37. He also said in St. John 4:24. "God is a spirit and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth." That Jesus would say that no one had seen or heard God at any time, while his followers both saw and heard him, is clear proof that Jesus was not God. 5. No one is greater than God and no one can direct Him but Jesus acknowledged someone greater than himself whose will was distinct from his own. Perhaps the clearest indication we have that Jesus and God are not equal, and therefore not one and the same, come again from the mouth of Jesus himself who said in St. John 14:28, "My Father is greater than I." When someone referred to him as good master in Matt 19:17, Jesus responded, "Why callest thou me good? There is none good but one, that is God..." Furthermore, Jesus drew clear distinctions between himself and God when he said, "I proceeded forth and came from God, neither came I of myself but He sent me." St. John 8:42. Jesus gave clear evidence of his subordination to God, rather than his equality with God,when he said in Luke 22:42, "not my will but thine be done" and in St. John 5:30, "I seek not mine own will but the will of the Father which hath sent me." That Jesus would admit that he did not come into the world on his own initiative but was directed to do so, that he would acknowledge another being as greater than himself, and that he would negate his own will in deference to affirming the will of another, give clear proof that Jesus is not the Supreme One and therefore Jesus is not God. Conclusion The Church recognizes the Bible as the primary source of knowledge about God and Jesus. But since the Bible makes it clear that Jesus is not the Supreme Being and the Supreme Being is not Jesus, upon what basis have you come to believe otherwise? My brother or sister, the belief that the Supreme Being is a Trinity is false and completely inconsistent with the words of Jesus as presented in the Bible. God is one, not three. Regarding Sonship of Jesus: That is Jesus, son of Mary, in word of truth, concerning which they are doubting. It is not for God to take a son unto Him. Glory be to Him! When He decrees a thing he but says to it "Be", and it is. (Qur'an 19:34,35). And they say, 'The All-merciful has taken unto Himself a son.' You have indeed advanced something hideous. The heavens are well nigh rent of it and the earth split asunder, and the mountains well nigh fall down crashing for that they have attributed to the All-Merciful a son; and it behoves not the All-Merciful to take a son. None is there in the heavens and earth but comes to the All-Merciful as a servant (Qur'an 19:88-93). Truly the likeness of Jesus, in God's sight, is as Adam's likeness; He created him of dust, then said He unto him, "Be", and he was. (Qur'an 3:59). People of the Book, go not beyond the bounds in your religion, and say not as to God but the Truth. The Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, was only the Messenger of God, and His Word that He committed to Mary, and a spirit from Him. So believe in God and His Messengers. and say not, 'Three', Refrain, better is it for you. God is only One God. Glory be on Him - that He should have a son! To Him belongs that which is in the heavens and on the earth, God suffices for a guardian. (Qur'an 4:171) B. Regarding Jesus being God: And when God said. 'O Jesus son of Mary,did you say unto men, "Take me and my mother as gods, apart from God?" He Said, 'To You be Glory! It is not mine to say what I have no right to. If I indeed said it, You knew it, knowing what is within my soul, and I do not know what is within Your soul; You know the things unseen. I only said to them what You did command me: "Serve God, my Lord and your Lord." And I was a witness over them, while I remained among them; but when You did take me to Yourself the Watcher over them; You are the witness of everything. (Quran 5:116,117) C. Regarding Crucifiction of Jesus: And for their unbelief, and their uttering against Mary a mighty calumny, and for their saying, 'We slew the Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, the Messenger of God'...yet they did not slay him, neither crucified him, only a likeness of that was shown to them. Those who are at variance concerning him surely are in doubt regarding him, they have no knowledge of him, except the following of surmise; and they did not slay him of certainty... no indeed, God raised him up to Him; God is Almighty, All-Wise. There is not one of the people of the Book but will assuredly believe in him before his death, and on the Resurrection Day he will be a witness against them. (Qur'an 4:156-159) JESUS in the QURAN The Islamic view Jesus lies between two extremes. The Jesus, who rejected Jesus as a Prophet of God, called him an impostor. The Christians, on the other hand, considered him to be the son of God and worship him as such. Islam considers Jesus to be one of the great prophets of God and respects him as much as Ibrahim (Abraham), Moses, and Mohammed. (Peace Be Upon Them) This is conformity with the Islamic view of the oneness of God, the oneness of Divine guidance, and the complementary role of the subsequent mission of God's messengers. The essence of Islam - willing submission to the will of God - was revealed to Adam, who was passed it on to his children. All following revelations to Noah, Ibrahim, Moses, Jesus, and finally Mohammed (Peace Be Upon Them) were conformity with that message, with some elaboration to define the revelation between man and God, man and man, man and instructions. Thus, any contradictions among revealed religions is viewed by Islam as a man-made element introduced into these religions. The position of Jesus in the three major religions - Judaism, Christianity, and Islam - should not be an exception. Although the Quran does not present a detailed life-story of Jesus, it highlights the important aspects of his birth, his mission, his ascension to heaven, and passes judgements on the Christian beliefs concerning him. The Quranic account of Jesus starts with the conception of his mother, Mary, whose mother, the wife of Imran, vowed to dedicate her child to the service of God in the temple. When Mary became a woman, the Holy Spirit (the Archangel Gabriel) appeared to her as a man bringing her news of a son. We read the following dialogue in the Quran between Mary and the Angel: "When the angel said, "Mary, god gives you a good tidings of a Word from Him whose name is messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, -high honoured shall he be in this world and the next, near stationed to God. He shall speak to men in the cradle, and of age, and righteous he shall be, "lord" said Mary "How shall I have a son, seeing no mortal has touched me? "Even so, he said "God creates what He will". When he decrees a thing He but say to it, "Be", and it is. (Al-Imran 3:45-47) In a chapter (Surah) entitled "Maryam" (Mary), the Quran tells us how Mary gave birth to her son, and how the Jesus accused her when she brought the child home: "Then she brought the child to her folk, carrying him, and they said, "Mary, you have surely committed a monstrous thing. Sister of Aaron, your father was not a wicked man, nor your mother a woman unchaste. Mary pointed to the child; but they said, 'Hoe shall we speak to one who still in the cradle, a little child. And he said, 'Lo, I am God's servant, God has given me the Book and made me a Prophet Blessed He has made me ,wherever/may be; and hi has enjoined me to prayer, and to give the alms so long as I live, and likewise to cherish my mother; He has not made me arrogant and wicked. Peace be upon me, the day I was born, and the day I die, and the day I am raised up a live. "Maryam 19:29-33) in the same chapter, following the above quotation, God assures Mohammed (PBUH) and through him the whole world, that what is told above is the TRUTH about Jesus (PBUH), although Christians might not accept it. Jesus is NOT the son of God: He was obviously enough, the son of Mary. The verses continue: "That is Jesus, son of Mary, in word of truth, concerning which they are doubting. It is not for God to take a son unto Him. Glory be to Him, He nut says to it, 'Be, and it is.
