The Pyramids of Giza These Three Pyramids are the most famous of all pyramids. The pyramids were built during the Fourth Dynasty of Egypt. The pyramid on the left was the smallest and latest, built by Menkaura or Mycerinus in around 2850 BC. To the right is the Pyramid of Khafra or Chepfran, there is still a portion of granite casing preserved on this pyramid. Last on the right is the great Pyramid of Khufu, or Cheops, the most magnificent and the earliest of the three. |
