Ancient Tarsus

Painted sketch of Tarsus, the birthplace of Paul the Apostle mentioned in the Bible. The ancient city was located in central Asia Minor in the south, about 20 miles from the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. It was the capital of the province of Cilicia during the time of the Roman Empire. It is currently in the province of Mersin in Turkey.
