scribe"
and reveals two men beside an altar with their hands

Amos was a Jewish prophet who opposed the idolatry
under King Jeroboam II and his officials for oppressing the poor
people of Israel. His home was Tekoa, a small village 10 miles south
of Jerusalem. He prophesied during the middle of the 8th century
B.C.
