Cistern Near Aleppo Cistern Near Aleppo
Interior of the cistern near Aleppo, mentioned in the Book of 2-Chronicles. Cisterns are often seen in the most solitary part of the wilderness. These consist of large tank more or less deep in the earth and is built around with stonework with walls rising several feet above the ground and is sometimes roofed. A door on one side of this structure leads down a flight of steps, extending even to the bottom of the tank.
