Salim
F8 on the Map.
Umm el-`Amdan. Place in the Jordan valley near Aenon, where John baptized people. It was identified with Tell Abu Jus, located around seven miles S. of Scythopolis and with a large Tell E of Shechem, were many architectural remains of the Roman period have been discovered. The springs of Wadi Raria located near here lead some to believe that this is the "much water" referred to in John 3:23.
