Mizpah T. en-Nasbeh. same as Mizpeh in Benjamin, Josh. 18. 26; an early sanctuary site; Judg. 20. 1 ff.; associated with Samuel, 1 Sam. 7. 5, 15; 10. 17; fortified by Asa king of Judah, 1 Kgs. 15. 22; sea, of Gedaliah's government after fall of Jerusalem, 586 B.c., 2 Kgs. 25. 23; Jer. 40. 6ff.; re-occupied after exile, Neh. 3. 17. Excavations reveal Asa's fortifications &c.

Joshua 18:26 - And Mizpeh, and Chephirah, and Mozah,
Judges 20:1 - Then all the children of Israel went out, and the congregation was gathered together as one man, from Dan even to Beersheba, with the land of Gilead, unto the LORD in Mizpeh.
1 Samuel 7:5 - And Samuel said, Gather all Israel to Mizpeh, and I will pray for you unto the LORD.

Jeremiah 40:6 - Then went Jeremiah unto Gedaliah the son of Ahikam to Mizpah; and dwelt with him among the people that were left in the land.
Nehemiah 3:17 - After him repaired the Levites, Rehum the son of Bani. Next unto him repaired Hashabiah, the ruler of the half part of Keilah, in his part.
