Tell. ed-Dibbin. Ijon meaning "a ruin" was a frontier town in the N of Judea, in the hills of Naphtali-a store city. It was captured in the days of Asa by Ben-hadad (1 Kings 15:20; 2 Chron 16:4), and later by Tiglath-pileser (2 Kings 15:29). It is thought to be Tell el-Dibbin, in the fertile valley of Merj 'Ayun ( "the meadow of springs"), NW of Dan.
