The Egyptians and Hebrew were not then so exclusive as afterward; Joseph was now naturalized with an Egyptian name, as viceroy. Asenath probably adopted Joseph's faith (Genesis 41:45; Genesis 41:50; Genesis 43:32; Genesis 46:20).
