Bust of Vespasian (Emperor of Rome)

The face of the Roman Emperor, Vespasian.  The bust of Vespasian is important in the study of Biblical Archaeology, it reveals the image of the Roman general who Nero sent to put down the Jewish revolt. In 70 AD. after Nero's suicide he set sail for Rome and left the final siege of Jerusalem in the hands of his son Titus. The destruction of Jerusalem was dreadfully foreseen and predicted by Jesus.

"As the flames shot up, a cry, as poignant as the tragedy, arose from the Jews, who flock to the rescue," - Josephus
